Little One

This is Natasha, who arrived last week and remains very sleepy most of the time, in between feedings that is. I created this mix to celebrate her arrival; I had to include the Christopher Cross since, inexplicably, Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do) came on our Pandora station while I was in labor, and after she arrived, the movie Arthur appeared on our hospital telly. Does this mean she will be a pianist? A drunk?  Or just love the smooth yacht rock sounds of The Cross as much as I do?  Who can say?

Painter Jason Bryant on the influence of classic film in his work: "Film, to me, has always been an escape. Like painting, it sends us on a journey where we take what we bring into it, but always come out of the viewing process a little more informed and with a different perspective. There is something so elegant and clean about how black and white film translates to the viewer. It is very baseline and straightforward in its approach." Above, his works "A Crack in His Faux Finish" and "Happiness."  See more here.
