1992 was my last year as a teenager. I remember spending much of it pondering gender politics, listening to Elvis Costello, and making drawings using the back of my dorm room door as an easel. This mix reveals that I was also listening to lots of Red Hot Chili Peppers, and that my idolizations of Patti Smith and PJ Harvey had emerged. It also includes selections from the most magical album of that year, Automatic for the People, and the closest thing to an earnest Steely Dan song. And is there anything that screams 1992 more than Tori Amos' cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit"?

This is awesome. You were so much cooler than I was in 1992 (Um, probably in 2010 as well).
Loretta, I doubt I was. And I know for certain that I'm not ;)
I always love your mixtape memories Alexa, they take me right back there too :)
