Does it make me a bad parent to want to play with these Shining finger puppets with the baby? I could make the story kid-friendly, with Jack just playing hide and seek, and Danny singing redrum as a nonsense song. Then we could play Jules and Vincent get a burger and Alex and friends drink some milk. Call it early film education.
This is our little Lena. So far, I can tell she likes to suck on things and sleep; she just makes noises when she's not doing either. We think she does a pretty good job just being cute. While she was knocking at the door to come out, her papa and I listened to some tunes to stay relaxed. I highly recommend these selections in particular if you're going to be pushing a baby out any time soon:
Comes and Goes (In Waves) :: Greg Laswell
Carry Me Ohio :: Sun Kil Moon
Black Swan :: Thom Yorke
Don't Panic :: Coldplay
Sailing :: Christopher Cross
Brothers on a Hotel Bed :: Death Cab For Cutie
a sorta fairytale :: Tori Amos
Sæglópur :: Sigur Ros
Videotape :: Radiohead
Breathe Me :: Sia
Landed :: Ben Folds
Head Home :: Midlake
Oh, right. Thanks, dippylulu. See y'all soon. Looks like I just might have this baby!
So The Lorax, Dr. Seuss' environmental fable starring my favorite forest creature with a groovy stache, is being made into an animated movie. But can the 1972 TV version really be improved upon? I think not.
In honor of John Hughes, I am single-handedly going to try and make "aces" happen this year. It's the new "fetch." Print by the awesomely prolific elloh.

Some fun facts inside from Bette, circa 1945:
I ENJOY - Not going to beauty parlors...doing exactly as I please...hot dogs...arguments...
I'M GUILTY OF - Chain Smoking...finding myself three blocks ahead of the person I'm walking with (very annoying to escorts)...enjoying reading more than the company of most people...
I DISLIKE ABOUT MYSELF - My laugh...my quickness...my desire for perfection in all matters...
I ADORE - Acapulco...my mother...moonlight on the ocean...my dog, Tibby.

Lately all I'm listening to is Pandora Radio. Perfect for a lazy day: just type in the name of a favorite song or artist, and out comes a radio station, which you can customize as it plays. She's busy creating many a playlist for me while I sit here relaxing.
