Frames of Summer

The last movie we saw before The Big Change was 500 Days of Summer. I loved its Hall-and-Oates-powered buoyancy. And any movie that successfully recycles Patrick Swayze's She's Like The Wind is It in my book. Thanks to Nate for pointing out this comic take on the tale by starblinx.

Heeeere's Daddy!

Does it make me a bad parent to want to play with these Shining finger puppets with the baby? I could make the story kid-friendly, with Jack just playing hide and seek, and Danny singing redrum as a nonsense song. Then we could play Jules and Vincent get a burger and Alex and friends drink some milk. Call it early film education.

I can't tell which songs she likes yet

This is our little Lena. So far, I can tell she likes to suck on things and sleep; she just makes noises when she's not doing either. We think she does a pretty good job just being cute. While she was knocking at the door to come out, her papa and I listened to some tunes to stay relaxed. I highly recommend these selections in particular if you're going to be pushing a baby out any time soon:

So The Lorax, Dr. Seuss' environmental fable starring my favorite forest creature with a groovy stache, is being made into an animated movie. But can the 1972 TV version really be improved upon? I think not.

The First Curious Woman

Lately all I'm listening to is Pandora Radio. Perfect for a lazy day: just type in the name of a favorite song or artist, and out comes a radio station, which you can customize as it plays. She's busy creating many a playlist for me while I sit here relaxing.
