So I'm seeing Star Trek for the second time this weekend. For anyone who loved the original incarnation, it's loads of fun. Plus I always had a weird crush on Spock, and the movie gives you two for the price of one: Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy! I remember running around the house when I was little, pulling up my ears and eyebrows, trying to be a Vulcan. My mom recently dug up this picture of my brother getting a USS Enterprise action playset for his birthday. I was clearly digging it too. Although it looks like my brother is hogging Spock. I appear to be clutching Scotty, waiting for him to beam me up.

Ok, seriously? Are we cosmic twins or something? I had it BAD for Spock. And I was lucky enough to be working at a hotel in WA when there was a Star Trek convention in town....the MOST fun I think I've ever had.
Spock is smokin'. And wow, to see a Star Trek convention firsthand! I loved going to Lord of the Rings opening night and seeing the people dressed up -- but I'm sure they were amateurs compared to the Trekkies.
Yes. And I definitely wanted to be highly illogical when it came to Spock. (sigh) I didn't attend the convention itself but hung out in the hotel bar after work with the Trekkies and, lemme tell YOU, they know how to par-TAY! :)

as a little kid the two things i watched on tv was mister rogers neighborhood and star trek! i wish i had a star trek set:] oh & spock was definitely my favorite too!
