Sigh. We had a marathon at my video store today. I cried when I found out. I hope Joanne is doing OK, though I know she's probably not. RIP Mr. Newman.
My friends and I pulled a Turner Classic Movies and had a group showing of The Sting. It was sad but it helped. We're worried for his soulmate, Robert Redford.
this doesn't have anything to do with anything, but i'm wearing one of my gaia conceptions jackets today, which made me think of you. with this awesome weather we're having here in mississippi, i think i might have to run over to her etsy shop and scoop up a couple more! also,a reminder: the kentuck festival is in just a couple of weeks!

Devastating. My all-time fav. I'm going to go buy some Newman's Own pretzels and eat the whole bag while watching Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
That sounds like a perfect thing to do!
you know he's gonna be missed. sad.

One of my more recent favorites of his was Nobody's Fool. I would watch that one right now but I'd probably start bawling.
Thanks for posting, Alexa.
I share all of your feelings - this is heartbreaking. But I really don't think he could have lived his life any more fully. What a man.
Loretta, I immediately thought of watching Cat on a Hot Tin Roof when I heard the news, too, but like you Alexa, I don't think I can yet.
Sara, that's awesome that you had a marathon at your store. What a great tribute.
He certainly will be missed...boy, will he be missed. Cinema has truly lost one of its greatest legends.
To Paul Newman, one of the most beautiful people, inside and out, to ever live.
I think Hud would do it to me...that one will have to wait.
Chin chin! How lucky we are to have had him in our world.
So. Lucky.
simply the best. love the pic of him you chose for the post. cool blue eyes, indeed.

It's so funny you say that, Amy...I was just last night deciding what other gaia items to save up to buy! Damn that lady makes some nice duds.
